Dalcroze Eurhythmics and Dynamic Rehearsal techniques: Reflections on practice

Karin’s general research aims are to investigate and begin to explicate the phenomenon of Dynamic Rehearsal and Dalcroze Eurhythmics as experienced, practised and developed by herself and as experienced by participants in classes, in particular the rhythmics class, which lies at the core of the method.

As participants routinely report positive effects on their own musicianship and performance and that of others. What are the processes at work? Currently, she is studying existing theories concerning the relationships between space, movement and musical perception and performance. A particularly rich interview has resulted in a slight re-orientation of her study.
