Health promotion among musicians: Better Practice

The AHRC-funded Musical Impact project brings together nine CUK conservatoires in a large-scale investigation of musicians’ health. Raluca’s research will focus on health promotion among musicians. Raluca has first degrees in psychology and music, and an MSc in Health Psychology from University College London. She has also studied violin at the Menuhin Academy (Switzerland).

The British Psychological Society (Division of Health Psychology) has recently awarded her both the Public Engagement Grant 2015 (for a series of workshops aimed at raising awareness of health psychology and behaviour change among orchestral players from the most prestigious London orchestras) and the Research Seminar Grant 2015 (for a roundtable-discussion aimed at encouraging cross-disciplinary collaborations between music psychology, health psychology and performing arts medicine). Raluca is currently the RNCM Research Postgraduate Student Representative.
